Jesse Blackadder wanted to be a vet from the age of five, but instead she ended up becoming a writer. She lives near an extinct volcano in Northern New South Wales with a water dragon called Kinky, a koala called Blinky, a python called Slinky, three goldfish still looking for names and lots of wild creatures.
Jesse's children's novels are about unlikely friendships between humans and animals, and all are inspired by real world creatures and their stories. They are:
“Stay: The Last Dog in Antarctica”
Jesse regularly visits schools and is available for talks, student mentoring and workshops. For primary school bookings contact The Children's Bookshop Speakers Agency in NSW or Speakers Ink in QLD or Jesse direct.
Jesse’s children’s novels are linked to Australian primary school curricula and are accompanied by Teachers’ hub @ HarperCollins teaching notes (Click here to download notes).
